Introduction

Civil Aviation Authority is the only entity in Qatar that undertakes the responsibility of air navigation control within its laws and regulations and in agreement with international laws of Arabic, regional and international organizations concerning air navigation control.

Air Transport & Airports Affairs Department represents air transport sector in Qatar. It links Qatar with world countries. It is the infrastructures of the international tourism industry. It plays a basic role in the economical development. That's why air transport control is important between counties in which equal opportunity and justice aim to evaluate air transport.

Liberalizing air transport and freeing this vital sector in Qatar to increase number of passengers and airlines arriving to Doha International Airport.

Mission

Air Transport and Airport Affairs Department has varied responsibilities. Airport Affairs section undertakes the responsibility of public services control such as customs, passports, security... etc. It also supervises companies' ground services and ensures its commitment and application of rules and regulations.

On the other hand, International & Governmental Relations section undertakes the responsibility of concluding bilateral agreements and representing State of Qatar in international and regional conferences and meetings pertaining aviation. In addition, it approves all bilateral agreements in which Qatar is part of.

While Airline Agencies section is considered as one of the most vital sections. It undertakes the responsibility of air transport market control in Qatar. It supervises air transport prices and approve airlines flights schedule. It also issues and renews licenses of airline agencies within the rules and regulations of Qatar.

Finally, Statistics section undertakes the responsibility of providing airlines and governmental entities with statistics concerning passengers, airmail or cargo. It uses the latest approved diagrams of well-recognized international airline companies..
