Calibration of
navigation equipment
at Doha
International
Airport
The Civil
Aviation Authority
has completed
successfully two
days calibration Air
navigation equipment
at Doha
international
Airport. The AIR NAV
calibration
Supervised by the
Electronic Section
affiliated to Air
Navigation
Department in
cooperation with
German Aero Flight
inspection.
The International
Civil Aviation
Organization
required from State
Members to carry
such calibration as
a compulsory
provision to insure
landing and
departure safety
both manual and
automated.
The calibration
conducted by special
Aircraft equipped
with advanced
measuring devices
which insuring from
air the accuracy and
efficiency of ground
navigation equipment
installed at the
Airport.
The said
equipment provides
accurate information
to pilots to locate
the Airport, the
landing point and
Aircraft route on
the runway.
The calibration
included DME- VOR,
ILS- DME and
affiliated sensitive
navigational
equipment.
The calibration
process is conducted
periodically (every
four months) to
insure AIR NVA
efficiency and to
comply with the ICAO
standards.
At the end of the
calibration program,
the German company
reported that AIR
NVA equipments at
Doha Airport are
efficient and
accurate. |
