Qatar Participates in ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN2017)

4/12/2017.The tenth ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event (ICAN2017), kicked off in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Held from 4 to 8 December 2017, ICAN 2017 aims at encouraging ICAO Member States to share mutual traffic rights, developing bilateral Air Services Agreements regulating traffic rights between Contracting States, supporting ICAO open-sky objectives and sustainable Air Transport. The State of Qatar has participated in ICAN 2017, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)  Delegation chaired by H.E. Abdulla Nasser Turki Al-Subaey, CAA Chairman. It is worth to mention that the State of Qatar has entered into a number of Air Services Agreements (ASA) with more than 162 ICAO Member States. The State of Qatar is expected to sign several Air Services Agreements on the margins of ICAN 2017, resulting into additional traffic rights, in support of the National carrier (Qatar Airways) with a network of more than 150 main destinations around the world.
