15/2/2017. United Development Company (UDC), one of the leading Qatari shareholding companies, celebrated Qatar National Sport Day in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport & Communications, through a series of activities held yesterday at UDC’s flagship project, The Pearl-Qatar.
Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman, UDC President & CEO, H.E. Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive, Qatar Airways Group; H.E. Abdullah bin Nasser Turki Al Subaey, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority along with Hussain Akbar Al Baker, Director of Marketing and Communications Department at United Development Company, participated in the day-long celebrations, in association with the entities involved and their families and staff to commemorate National Sport Day events.
The event featured a walkathon along Porto Arabia Boardwalk and several sporting and fitness training activities in addition to a dedicated kids play area, all held in Porto Arabia, between 29 and 30 La Croisette.
Also in Porto Arabia between 1 and 2 La Croisette, Qatar Charity hosted another walkathon and kids activities for their employees, beneficiaries and collaborators.
National Sport Day translates the nation’s belief in the importance of sports, by focusing on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle and on improving sports for better bodies and more active minds. These values further fulfil the objectives set by Qatar National Vision’s human development pillar.
The Pearl-Qatar’s residents and visitors were also treated to exciting incentives by the island’s retailers, to help them get active on National Sports Day. Niya Yoga in Qanat Quartier offered free yoga sessions with Gymmito and Strongbox also extending complimentary fitness classes and tryouts on the day.
